cannot log in but can IMAP and SMTP

I just made a trial email account yesterday (or the day before depending on where you are), and I’ve been testing IMAP and SMTP. But I just decided to log in via webmail and it won’t accept the username / password that is being accepted with IMAP and SMTP (or, likely, was until I tried resetting password). I just tried requesting a email login and a password reset, but these aren’t showing up on my alternate/recovery email either. Is there a service outage or something? Is runbox finding the sometimes-invalid IMAP test requests I sent (just learning how to use IMAP protocol) as security issues or something and somehow restricting my account? Or is there some other reason?
