Dark grey over msg list when folders displayed

When the folder panel is selected, the message list is obscured by a dark grey “shadow”. WHY?
This makes the messages list unuseable.

Additionally, there should be a more intuitive way to close the folder panel than clicking on the greyed-out area.

This is intended to be a responsive feature for smaller screens as they have less horizontal space available.

Your answer does not address this issue: there should be a more intuitive way to close the folder panel than clicking on the greyed-out area

And I don’t see why the screen size has anything to do with the grey cloud. I can live with the collapsible folder list, but ‘greying out’ is annoying and pointless.

Do you mean this?

Yes, I mean the rightmost quarter of the image

I think it would be interesting to hear if others think about that.

Personally I like it as it makes your brain focus on choosing the folder and that is probably what you want to focus on in that situation?
