Hi,
Is IMAP import a one-time operation or can I use it like POP Fetch to be set up and left to operate at time intervals?
Hi,

Looking at IMAP Import - Runbox Help it says:
IMAP Import will copy all folders and email in another account to your Runbox account.
If it’s copying ‘all folders and email’ wouldn’t there be duplicates downloaded each time, unless you delete them in the source account at the end of every run?
@FredOnline As far as I understand it duplicates shouldn’t happen as the process looks at what is already in the account and doesn’t just copy emails across again. Sorry for the late reply.
follow-up question. I’m not sure I understand the added value of the imap retrieval. I’m using Thunderbird with my domain and maintain a copy of my messages on my laptop. Can’t I just change the imap server settings in Thunderbird to runbox? It should then sync all messages and folders to the server, shouldn’t it?
No it will not. You need to use the import feature to import from your previous vendor( IMAP server ).
Other options is to add both your accounts in thunderbird, and copy between them.
Hello @oxygen8055
You can use the IMAP Import feature or do as I have done a number of times and set up both accounts in Thunderbird and copy messages from one to the other. I prefer this method as it gives me more control of the process.
