Gmail and Microsoft Exchange/Outlook are now requiring “modern authentication” (OAuth 2.0). Are there any plans to implement this so we can continue retrieving our email from these providers using Runbox?
It would be good to implement this even for e-mail providers that haven’t (yet) started requiring OAuth - it means Runbox does not have to store the user’s password for POP/IMAP retrieval.
Hello @v1t4v1t4 and apologies for the late response.
We are planning to support OAuth, but it has not yet been scheduled for development. We might change the priority depending on circumstances and user feedback, though.
Without OAuth being implemented it is now no longer possible to use Manager > Retrieve to collect emails from Outlook.com. This has been stopped by Microsoft since 26-Sep-2024.
