There are things to like about Runbox 7. For example, it’s much faster than Runbox 6 and its search function really works. (6 no longer searches at all for me and never was very good at it!)
But the tricks to control the panels in 7 (File List, Message List, and Reading Pane) are not intuitively located or symbolized, so hard to remember, and sometimes they are hidden (e.g., Toggle folder pane is not visible unless Message List is showing, and the only way to cover Message List with a full-size Reading Pane seems to be to change it from Vertical to Horizontal first), and panel size is difficult to control if you demand to show Message List and a large enough Reading Pane at the same time. These problems are exacerbated by the insufficient explanations of how to operate the program in Help, etc.
Its so bad that it appears the developers are too close to it or have not actually tried to use it themselves.
7 has been under “development” for ages while 6 deteriorates. Maybe they should just pull the plug on 7 and go back to maintaining 6?
Just my two cents. – jclarkw2
