Runbox aliases in email client

I use aliases quite a lot (mostly to filter my email into different folders), but have not been able to work out if they can be configured in an external email client (I use K9 on mobile). Is it possible, and if so, how?

As a related question - when searching the forum, I found references to a method that prevents email being sent from an alias as “Real Name alias@runbox.com” - that would be very useful. Is that possible?

Thanks,

A.

Hello @bicyclrepairman and welcome to the forum.

Yes, you can use aliases in an email client as long as the email client supports them. I believe K9 supports them). All that is required is to set up the alias as another address in the same account in K9. I don’t recall exactly where that setting is though at the moment.

I don’t really understand what you mean by preventing “Real Name alias@runbox.com” from being used. Could you explain a bit more about what you mean by that? Thank you.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the response, I’ll take a look through the K9 settings.

By that I mean, if I send an email from “myalias@runbox.com”, the email still has my real name in the “From” field.
